Press Release  May 16, 2009

The 44mod team raced their 1st Battle of the bluegrass race at Bardstown KY.  BLUEGRASS SPEEDWAY .  Turner started in the first heat and was making a charge to the front when one of the other cars lost oil on the track causing Donny Adams to hit the wall in front of Turner.  Turner tried to gain control from getting in the oil but with no luck and climbed the wall also.

The 44mod car would have to start on the tail of the B Main and with only 10 laps to run would really have to call hard on the Dale Meers Power Plant.  Turner was able to finish 2nd but buy only 1 ft at the line to separate 1st from second.

Turner started 9th row outside 18th position in the A Main feture event,  With the track taking on rubber was only able to move up to the 12th position.

Press Release  MAR 25, 2009

Turner gets his 1st Feature win of 2009!  The 44 Mod race car started on the outside front row of the heat.  Turner took the lead on the first lap and led until lap 8 and then he caught a rut, got into the wall, and lost a right front tire.  He did not finish the heat.  This put him on the tail of the feature.  At the start of the race the track quickly got dry and dusty.  This made is difficult to move through traffic.  On lap 10 Turner took the lead and went on the win the race!

Press Release  MAR 24, 2009

The 44 mod racing team ended up with a 6th place finish.  The night started out shaky with a bad qualifying time when Turner caught a rut in turns 1 and 2 and almost hit the wall. Turner Quotes "Without a 2nd lap and with that qualifying time I knew our night was going to be a up hill battle".

Turner was correct in saying this was an up hill battle with starting in the 12th position, 6th row outside and only 20 laps for the mod feature, Turner had to drop the rains on the Dale Meers power plant early but with only a few laps to work with, a 6th place finish to be recorded in the record books.

Press Release  MAR 21, 2009

The 2009 racing session started of to a rough start with a night ending early after getting involved in a heat race entanglement.  Joe Turner, driver of the blue and black, 44 OWM Bob Pierce Racecar with a Dale Meers power plant, was not able to evade a last lap wreck that collected his car and sending him into the inside burm and ending his night early.  Joe had just spun in the previous caution to avoid a two car mishap that brought out the red flag.  With two laps left Turner starting in 7th place position, odds were not looking good for the 44 car.  When the green flew Turner passed 2 cars coming out of turn 2 and then another in turn 4 putting Turner in the 4th position and only one car to pass to get into the feature that is when the last entanglement happened.
